Yves Klein, "Les Fondements du Judo"
The "Fondements du judo" is a rare book: first because it was initially published in 1954 by Grasset and out of print since a long time and out of reach of the public up to now, and also because it discloses, through the lightning personality of Yves Klein, an original combination: creation and jûdô - the "way of flexibility" - the martial art qualification of which takes suddenly another meaning. Back from Japan in 1954, glorified with a 4th dan, Yves Klein, we know above all as the father of the Klein Blue and the visionary herald of immetarial, undertakes to publish, with the help of Master Igor Correa, a treatise on the 6 Judo katas, the "foundations". One the major artists of the 20th Century was thus also a big judoka.
