"Creature" by Andrew Zuckerman
Photographer Andrew Zuckerman's strikingly detailed images of animals from around the world are as delightful as they are inspiring. The Figure in relief, Manuel Neri
The Figure in relief, Manuel Neri
What is most impressive about Neri's sculpture is his ability to depict the figural form in various media with equal mastery and sensitivity. Wether in plaster, clay, bronze, or marble, his sculptures possess incredibly rich and evocative surfaces. However, Neri's affinity with plaster, the material of the Arcos de Geso reliefs, is unrivaled. Plaster, in all its immediacy, is the perfect medium for Neri; it affords him the opportunity to add to or subtract from the figure with ease, to model or carve, polish or gouge.

Becoming Art: Exploring Cross-Cultural Categories by Howard Morphy
"Becoming Art: Exploring Cross-Cultural Categories" by Howard Morphy
"Becoming Art" provides a new analysis of the shifting cultural and social contexts that surround the production of Aboriginal art. Transcending the boundaries between anthropology and art history, the book draws on arguments from both disciplines to provide a unique interdisciplinary perspective that places the artists themselves at the centre of the argument. Western art history has traditionally regarded Aboriginal art as distanced from time and place.

Andy Goldsworthy, Reperes
Andy Goldsworthy, Reperes
Andy's Goldsworthy: "I have described some of my works made with sticks and stones as houses. These works often enclose a stone (or column of stones) to which the sticks become a protective, encircling gesture (...) At times the house has become cone or cairn like in form. Cairns are piles of stone used as journey markers and I like the way the form can become both house and marker at the same time. After all, the destination of many journeys is to reach a home. The piles os stones could be seen as a reminder of the dwelling that will eventually be reached."

Love it and Leave it by Nathalie Latham
"Love it and Leave it" by Nathalie Latham
Nathalie is a model 21st century Australian visual artist: French mum, pommie dad, grew up in Brisbane, she is fluent in both Japanese and French. It is her impish, questing mind that drives her to interrogate the cultures she seems to constantly pass through. She works this through people she connects with, and for me this is her real strength. Nathalie connects well with almost everyone, it’s like she has an inbuilt radar that can scope out a person’s emotional geography within minutes of meeting them. That’s the nub of it. She is also very good at matching the right art medium to the subject area of her diverse projects. Marks on paper, film, photography andwriting, she can do them all.
