The National Gallery Of Canada Appoints Paul Lang As Its Chief Curator
The National Gallery of Canada (NGC) announced the appointment of Paul Lang, an expert in neo-classical European Art, as its new Deputy Director and Chief Curator. An accomplished scholar who holds a PhD in Art History from the University of Geneva, Mr. Lang has been Chief Curator at the Musée d'art et d'histoire de Genève in Switzerland since 2000. New Director Of Tensta Konsthall
Maria Lind has been appointed the new director of Tensta Konsthall. Prior to assuming her duties at Tensta Konsthall 1 January, 2011, Maria Lind was director of the Masters Programme at the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College in New York (2008-2010). She was head of Iaspis in Stockholm in 2005-2007 and head of Kunstverein Munchen in 2002-2004. From 1997 to 2001 she was a curator at Modern Museet and in 1998 a co-curator of Manifesta 2, Europe's art biennale. (view more...)

MOCA Announces Election Of New Trustee Daniel S. Loeb
The Board of Trustees of The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, announced that Daniel S. Loeb has been elected to its Board. He is one of 10 new and returning trustees added to the Board in 2010. The announcement follows news that the museum closed its 2010 fiscal year with a surplus of more than $5.5 million and that the value of its endowment-related assets had more than tripled since the end of 2008, growing to $18.5 million. Through January 9, 2011, the Portland Art Museum has Norman Rockwell’s "Santa and the Globe" (1926) on view in its American art galleries. One of the United States’ pre-eminent artist illustrators, Rockwell virtually defined the popular image of Santa Claus in mid-century America.
