 | Logan Center For The Arts Announces Monika Szewczyk As Visual Arts Program Curator The Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts at the University of Chicago is pleased to announce the appointment of Monika Szewczyk as the Logan Center’s Visual Arts Program Curator. Szewczyk will oversee exhibitions in the Logan Center Gallery and other spaces throughout the multidisciplinary building, which is the new home for the study, practice, and exhibition of visual arts, theater and performance, cinema and media, music, art history, and creative writing, among other arts-related and community initiatives. Drawing on her international experience, Szewczyk is developing a dynamic exhibitions program that responds to and expands both the spirit of intellectual inquiry at the University and the artistic energies that animate the city of Chicago, with particular attention to the University’s South Side neighbors.(view more...) |

 | BMW Guggenheim Lab Concludes Berlin Run The BMW Guggenheim Lab Berlin has concluded its six weeks of programs exploring issues of urban life, with a focus on the importance of "doing and making" to activate change. The Lab, which operated from June 15 to July 29, was located in Prenzlauer Berg in the Pfefferberg complex. Berlin was the second stop of the project’s six-year, nine-city global tour, attracting 27,144 visitors over thirty-three days. (view more...) |
