Winning Artwork in the National Space Society Space Settlement Art Contest
In November 2006, the National Space Society(NSS) launched the NSS Space Settlement Art Contest. Contest objectives were to generate new artwork depicting space settlement; encourage artists in the creation of such art; and to raise public awareness about space settlement by maintaining an online space art gallery and featuring the best contest art in the NSS Space Settlement 2008 Calendar.

Phil Collins At The Carnegie Museum Of Art
In Forum 59: Phil Collins, Carnegie Museum of Art will present the British-born artist’s ongoing video project the world won’t listen, in which he invites fans of the 1980s band The Smiths to perform karaoke versions of tracks from their classic album of the same name in front of his video camera.

Contrasts Gallery: Everyday Extraordinary
Contrasts Gallery is pleased to announce the first solo exhibition of the
work by Chinese artist Xue Tao.
The show will present a collection of works entirely made of newspaper
and metal wire - constructions that include abstract sculptures and both
functional and non-functional design items. His choice of newspaper as a
medium for his creative work is reminiscent of the 1962-1972 European
movement known as "Arte Povera" for its rejection of the "traditional"
noble artistic media in favour of everyday materials.

Artparis Sets Out On A More Contemporary Orientation
For its ninth edition, artparis installs itself once again, as in the previous year, under the glass roof of the Grand Palais. A definitively spring event, artparis again welcomes the prestigious names which joined it in 2006, through which it has connected itself to a number of important galleries specialized in contemporary art. In effect, around thirty new exhibitors in 2007 are dedicated to contemporary art and contemporary photograph. It is noteworthy that since the change of the event’s date on the calendar, the percentage of returning exhibitors has come up to 70%.
