Mann Center Names Catherine M. Cahill President and CEO
Mann Center chairman Justin P. Klein is pleased to announce that Catherine M. Cahill has been named The Mann's president and chief executive officer. Ms. Cahill is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of the Brooklyn Philharmonic. She is expected to assume her new responsibilities on June 1, 2008.

Dallas Museum Of Art Acquires Painting By Jacques-Louis David
The Dallas Museum of Art recently acquired Jacques-Louis David’s dramatic work, "Apollo and Diana Attacking the Children of Niobe", through the Mrs. John B. O’Hara Fund of the Foundation for the Arts as the newest addition to the Museum’s permanent collection, it was announced by John R. Lane, the Eugene McDermott Director of the DMA.

Artists Announced For "Life On Mars", The 2008 Carnegie International
The artists whose work will be featured in "Life on Mars", the 2008 Carnegie International were announced by Douglas Fogle, curator of contemporary art at Carnegie Museum of Art and curator of the exhibition. The show, on view from May 3, 2008, through January 11, 2009, will include some 200 works in diverse media by 40 emerging and established artists from 17 countries. As the pre-eminent international survey of contemporary art in North America, the 55th exhibition in the 112-years-old series continues the historic legacy set forth by previous Carnegie Internationals in presenting new and compelling works by artists from around the world.

Artist Will Build Newspaper House In London
Turkish-Cypriot artist Sümer Erek, will build a house made of newspapers in in Gillett Square, London. The wooden construction will be removed after it is filled with newspapers. Erek will build the house with the help of the public, who are encouraged to collect newspapers left on subways, buses, streets, and their homes.

Gardens Of The World Presents Ione Citrin
Los Angeles-based artist Ione Citrin spent many years of her life playing the fool in front of the cameras for Hollywood Westerns, TV commercials and a prime-time ABC morning show "The Prize Movie with Ione" from 1967 to 1975. Based in Chicago, Ione was the kooky presenter of a mix of comedy, variety, game-show, fitness and phone call-in, spliced between heavily edited versions of old movies – often dressed in appropriate costumes, from Tarzan’s Jane to surfer girl.

Ten Architects Selected to Receive the 2008 AIA Award
The American Institute of Architects (AIA) announced the ten recipients of the 2008 AIA Young Architects Award. Young Architects are defined as professionals who have been licensed 10 years or fewer regardless of their age. This award honors individuals who have shown exceptional leadership and made significant contributions to the profession early in their careers. The Young Architects Award will be presented to the recipients at the AIA 2008 National Convention and Design Exposition in Boston in May. The Boston Society of Architects (BSA) nominated five of the 10 recipients.

MET Museum Names Firm to Aid in Trustee Search for Next Director
The Metropolitan Museum of Art announced that it has retained the New York-based executive search firm Phillips Oppenheim to help organize and staff the international search for the institution's next Director. The firm will work closely with the Museum's Trustees' recently designated Search Committee, which is chaired by Annette de la Renta, with S. Parker Gilbert serving as vice-chairman.
